Our classes at Glenmore are student focused with the needs of each individual considered and addressed. Modifications for poses are offered and encouraged, allowing all students to benefit from the practice. Class levels range from gentle to advanced.
The benefits of a regular yoga practice for older adults can include improved balance and muscle tone, increased strength, flexibility of the spine and joints and improved cardiovascular functioning. Our older adult classes are designed specifically for the ageing body and poses and movements are modified accordingly.
Individual yoga therapy consultations can be helpful to students who are brand new to yoga or to those who have issues that would benefit from more personalized one on one time. These sessions may include a combination of discussion, yoga and massage as needed by the student.
Massage therapy can be helpful for specific injuries and issues or simply to relax and refresh. Sessions are available for 30, 60 or 90 minutes in several different modalities. Aromatherapy may also be added to any massage service.
Prenatal Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. During pregnancy, a woman's body can endure tremendous stress due to physical and emotional changes. Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
